TEAM HISTORY
Under 9 Hawks (04/09/07)

The Hawks started out at Under 7 level in Division 2 (Dengie Division) of the Blackwater & Dengie League with five of the original 2007/08 squad involved (Ben Augur, Taylor Barnard, Tom Bamforth-White, Aaron Smith and Zak Chambers). The team struggled to win many games in that first season although some of the matches were very exciting, notably a 4-3 thriller at Gallow United! Rio King, who subsequently left to join Coggeshall Town, with 14 goals and Tom Bamforth-White with 13 goals led the way in attack.

Last season, at Under 8 level, the team was split into two with the Under 7's Assistant Manager Sean Smyth taking over the reigns of the Kestrels in Division 3 whilst the Hawks again played in Division 2 (Dengie Division).

After a slow start whilst the five new players (Daniel Lesiak, Gavin Hannah, Alex Convoy, Harry Hurst and Rowan Wallace) were integrated into the squad, the team gelled together nicely and played some brilliant football to go on a ten-game unbeaten run, finish runners up in the Dengie Division and also to win the Great Bradfords 5-a-Side tournament. Tom Bamforth-White was top scorer with 9 goals, closely followed by Taylor Barnard with 8.

Player's player of the season
was Gavin Hannah and Manager's player was Ben Augur, whilst the Clubman award went to Alex Convoy, who left the Club at the end of the season.

This year (2007/08), after promotion, the boys are playing in Division 1 (Blackwater Division), which has so far been a real challenge for them, as they are playing against some very strong sides with a proven track record at all age groups.

We had two new players in Cameron Beck (who has now left as he is moving to France!) and Danny Sutton plus another prospective signing in Luke Potter, whilst former Manager's son Tom Bamforth-White has transferred to Braintree Town where he is really enjoying his football and developing nicely away from the added burden of being the Manager's son.

With Manager Tim Bamforth-White stepping down, the new management team of Andy Sutton and Rick Smith will take on the challenge of maintaining the boys' status in Division 1.

a good season (30/07/08)
